Whether you are interested in boating, hiking, hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying central Wisconsin's beautiful scenery, Cedar Springs has something for you! Here are just a few of the activities you will find at your doorstep while visiting Cedar Springs RV Park and Campground:
Boating, Swimming and Fishing
We have hiking, a kids playground and a small lake to swim or canoe/kayak on.
We're just down the road from Castle Rock Lake, the states fourth largest inland lake and nearby to Petenwell Lake, the second largest inland lake in Wisconsin. Together they offer sixty square miles of fun. Castle Rock Lake shores are dotted with public launch sites, and visitors can enjoy water skiing, swimming, sailing, and boating on its beautiful blue waters. For fishing anglers there are Walleye, Northern Pike, Bass, Panfish, Musky and more.
Wildlife, Hunting and Birding
Buckhorn State Park on the east shore of Castle Rock is a 5,900 acre park and wildlife area- a peninsula in the Castle Rock Flowage of the Wisconsin River is suited well for water recreationists, hunters, fishing, bird watching and nature lovers.
For birdwatchers, Adams and Juneau Counties are just great! They feature Quincy Bluff and Wetlands area, the Van Kuren Trail and the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge, a 44,000 acre ecosystem featuring rare species such as the Karner blue butterfly, whooping cranes, trumpeter swans and red-headed woodpeckers. You might even see a badger, porcupine or the occasional black bear or timber wolf.
Biking and Golfing
For those who like to bike the State 400, Omaha and the famous Elroy-Sparta Bike trails combine for 68 miles of biking fun. The Elroy-Sparta trail is highlighted by passing through three historic railroad tunnels. Ask about trail maps at the campground office.
For the golfer we're just 3 miles from Castle Rock Golf Course, an 18 hole public course with plenty of water, sand and trees to challenge any golfer.
Shopping and Attractions
We're nearby to the City of Mauston which has shopping, a cheese factory, restaurants and antique stores. For the adventurous, we're less than one-half hour from the Wisconsin Dells Area. The area known for its natural beauty also has a multitude of attractions for day trips.
